Bill Robertson (Capt. Bill) building Europe

Joe van Staden, you write about Bill Robertson (Capt. Bill) Now I know much later after Jill and I had gone back to South Africa Bill Robertson came along setting himself up as the “founder” of Scientology in Europe. Gerrrrrrrrrr.

I worked directly under Capt. Bill at EULO as A/CS 3 1970-73. Those were wonderfull and fantastic years. However I never heard Capt. Bill call himself anything like founder. He had great respect for LRH, and FOUNDER was the title of the old man.

I would say, that Capt. built Europa. From a few small orgs to many large orgs. Those years were golden years with unheard of expansion in the europe. We sent Jens Bogvad to Munich, Germany and in 18 months the org grew from 2 staff to more than 80. Similar could be told about Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and others. And you know, ethics was not an issue. We did not handle by doing ethics investigation and hearings, declaring and expelling. No, we handled by promoting, getting people in, training and auditing them. And that created new inflow ... When I was promoted out of that job to go to GO WW, my ethics folder was empty except for a commendation.

When I came back to Copenhagen in 1974 captain Bill had been busted for being upstat. I met two of our star staff members from the golden days. They were in the RPF chipping rust on the deck of the SO Stationship.
