Contribution from Neville Mann:

Mary Long, I knew very well. She rented her flat to me in 1970. She was a Professional Psychic, specifically, a psychometrist. She would know the contents of sealed envelopes, including the state of mind of the letter writer. She worked for a firm of lawyers, I gathered.

Three days after my father died, she relayed a message from him. They had never met, though I had asked her to check on his condition in St. Thomas Hospital London. At the time she lived in sheltered accommodation in Wellow, Bath. Crippled by arthritis. This was a week before he died (in 1994) He described him very accurately, was sorry they had never met (she had only met me and Marisa [Neville's wife]),

After his death I phoned her with the news. Three days later she used an expression only he and his war time colleague (who attended my clinic once a week) could have known. Typical of my father's ingenuity and Mary's ability. She was a natural psychic and gave me a book on the messages she received from "Osiris" and similar Gods, during the early 1950's.

This was sent to me by email 15th August 2015 and I am not sure how to incorporate it. Antony A Phillips (talk) 02:37, August 15, 2015 (CDT)

I have not forgotten Mary Long, Birth names: Miss. Pepys Arthur. Mary might have been her second given name. When I knew her I suspected it was to please LRH, he and she were very close, both sharing the same birthday, and both, I am sure sharing the same "Channeling" ability. He gave her a beautiful glass bowl.

On re reading the book she wrote in 1970 I suspect it had been bestowed by the Ancient God Osiris.

She was, without any doubt extraordinarily psychic in fact worked as a psychometrist with the Professional name of: Striga. She was not very forthcoming as to what she did or for whom, which is how it should be. A medical doctor would not discuss his patients with a non medical friend. I did gather that she worked for lawyers, explaining what their dodgier clients were up to.

She did this by holding a recent letter (unopened) from the "suspect" and immediately explain what was on the wretches mind.

I had an example of this when I received a startling letter from the very attractive cousin of a good friend. For the past year I had taken them both to a fortnightly philosophical group meeting, on account of owning a car. I also found the cousin encouraging, even though she was married with three young children.

Three days before a Thursday evening meeting I received a letter from the cousin accusing me of all sorts of things including ignoring her. It went on for a full, closely typed page. I was shocked as I had tried to behave correctly for my friends sake if no other reason. There was another reason for my upset: I got on well with her husband, though seldom saw him as he frequently worked abroad for an oil company.

I visited Mary after my work at East Grinstead, several times a week, so I handed her the letter. Without hesitation she handed it back, unopened telling me to throw it away as it wasn't meant for me, the lady was letting off steam over her husband and addressed it to me in her confusion.

She asked me when I would meet the lady again, I replied "This Thursday" but expressed my reluctance to go. I had thought of a reasonable excuse.

Mary told me to carry on as normal as the lady had no idea she had sent the letter to me and would never mention it.

This is what happened. It was a good meeting and my friends cousin behaved in as friendly a manner as usual.

I am reading again her book on Osiris. I read it first when she gave it to me, forty five years ago. When I have finished it together with her following book, I will write more.
