About[edit | edit source]

Dr. Harold Puthoff was/is a Scientologist (does not acknowledge this fact today) and primary developer of the US experiments into paranormal abilities. His investigations and tests were funded by the US government in the early 1970's as a response to American fears the Soviet Union was developing capabilities to gain an advantage over the US by exploiting then unknown potentials of the human mind.

The experiments he oversaw at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) were the most thorough and well documented investigations into spiritual/mental potential ever. They validated what Scientologists would call "OT abilities".

More importantly, the RV tests at SRI validated the fact that Scientology regimens develop and enhance psychic abilities in human beings.

Two Scientology OT's, Ingo Swann and Pat Price were the premier subjects of the research.

Many speculate this series of investigations led to the US government taking a keen interest in the Scientology OT levels. Others further speculate they also led to a government takeover of the Church of Scientology in order to limit and control its influence and spread.

And some speculate the death of Pat Price was precipitated by some of his revelations and abilities.
